This is a magnificent KNIGHTS TEMPLAR COMMANDRY SWORD made by the great Ames sword Co. Chicopee Mass. The sword dates back to the time period from 1882.  The sword is 35.5 inches long. The blade is 28 inches long. A picture of the sword is depicted in the 1880’s copy of the Ames sword company, Chicopee Mass. catalog page 34 with the plate sword 29 -33 depicted. This is a beautiful quality sword for the age of about 130 years old. The condition is as follows:  The sword handle is solid, it is black painted wood with metal accent. The guard is decorated with stars in a triangle and a central crowing rooster (the significance of the first sign of light) The pommel is a knights head, there is no play in the pommel. Connecting both the guard and the pommel is a chain. Please see the pictures. The blade is in good condition for the age. On it is WILLIAM PARKMAN COMMANDRY KT.   And on the reverse side is the name of the knight, HORACE WARREN SIAS. The scabbard is an old style with some beautiful symbolism including the square and compas, in old style and a templar cross with in hoc signo vinces.  The bottom of the scabbard is a little wavy but does not impact the sword movement at all.  The sword fits nice in the scabbard.
