Tanto Muromachi en shirasaya Precio: 1.025 euros
This is Japanese sowrd tanto in shirasaya. The blade is signed "Kanefusa 兼房", hira-zukuri sun-nobi tanto shape, muromachi period. Ca.1550 made. There are many genarations Kanefusa and this smith is one of Seki zenjo school smith in Mino province. The blade is out of polish, has fine scratch on surface from the age, shows several "hada-are" coarse forging and looks tired blade. The temperline are wavy gunome temper pattern and has deep turn back temper at the point. The forging grain is itame-hada mix with masa-me hada and shows loose grain. There is no bend, no nicks, no crack and the cutting edge is sharp. The blade is rested in howood shirasaya with double copper habaki. It measures 12 1/8" cutting edge and 20" in shirasaya mountings.
