La hoja no tiene firma, pero según la documentación que trae consigo la pieza la misma fue realizada en la provincia de Seki. La hoja es de forma shinogi-zukuri, está pulida mostrando alguna porosidad. La línea de templado es gunome-choji. No muestra daños, melladuras, ni falta alguna.
Longitud total de la pieza: 96 cm. La vaina es antigua (iai-to) y está relacada. Los menuki representan una flor de cerezo. La tsuba está grabada con altorrelieves también florales.

Showa gunto in mountings katana

The blade is unsigned, shinogi-zukuri shape, looks hand forged gendai Seki provinces made blade.  The blade is in old new polish condition and has tiny stain on surface but nothing bad one.  The temper line shows wavy gunome-choji with togariba temper pattern throughout the blade and has healthy deep temper at the point.  The forging is tight ko-mokume. There is no bend, no nicks, no forging flaws, no rust, no crack and the cutting edge is razor sharp. The blade measures 26 3/8" cutting edge, 27 1/4" tip to the guard, 1 1/4" width, 1/4" thickness at the notch and 38 1/2" in mountings. It is heavy, beefy blade and 2" long ububa left at hamachi. The scabbard is old iai-to scabbard with relacquered. The handle is old tsuka-ito wrapping, tight fit with matched syakudo fuchi /kashira with sanren cherry flower menuki.   The tsuba is wild flower design old copper tsuba with nice patina.
