Daga naval con puño de marfil
Extraordinaria y muy rara daga naval posiblemente española con una inusual hoja triangular y empuñadura de hueso, marfil, latón y cobre, conserva su vaina que es de un estilo típicamente naval del XVIII, sin embargo no estamos seguros de la datación de la pieza que podría ser de los primeros años del siglo XIX. En la colección proveniente estaba clasificada como “Spanish naval dagger XVIIITh century”, podría ser pero también de alguna de las marinas mercantes, de guerra o corsarias de las nuevas repúblicas en guerra de emancipación por aquellos años.

This early naval dirk dates from the late 18th-early 19th century and survives in excellent condition. “Spanish naval dagger XVIIITh century” Combination horn and ivory grip is completely intact and is topped with a copper disk pommel on one end and brass guard with acorn quillons on the other. 12" / 31 cm-long curved triangular colichemarde-type blade is free of rust or pitting. Scabbard has a wooden core and is upholstered in a type of oil-cloth and has brass throat and end pieces, with a figural brass strip connecting the two.
